Flamex DF for Delicate Fabrics - 1 Gallon

Many fabrics and materials used in scenery and costumes are delicate and have a gentle hand and soft drape. Treating these fabrics presents a challenge to develop an adequate flame retardance without causing the materials to stiffen or otherwise alter their drape. Flamex DF is a gentle solution that maintains the soft qualities of the fabric while still providing a safe and secure flame treatment. Flamex DF works with most natural or synthetic fiber fabrics. Use to treat Sheers, Silks, Organza, Chiffon, Lace. Rosco Flamex DF has been premixed and does not require any further dilution. The method of application and the amount of Flamex required for sufficient treatment varies with the fabrics in use. In order to maintain the soft drape of the fabric, spray application in multiple light passes is recommended. One gallon of Flamex DF will treat approximately 600 square feet (55.8 square meters) of fabric. Flamex can be applyed in three ways: Dipping is the most efficient method of impregnation. Immerse completely for ten minutes, and hang to dry. Brush using a wide lay-in brush, brush the Flamex solution into the fibers of the material being treated. Brush in the solution using a criss-crossing pattern to insure adequate absorption. In a Spray Application, it is very important that an adequate amount of the Flamex be absorbed. In calculating the amount of solution needed, remember that a substantial portion of the spray will not fall on the fabric. Use a Hudson-type sprayer with a medium nozzle setting. For best results, hang the material to be treated and spray in a back and forth pattern starting at the bottom and working your way up to the top of the fabric sample. Flamex NF for Natural Fabrics - 1 Gallon

Most fabrics made of natural fibers can be effectively treated using Rosco Flamex NF. Among the many fabrics commonly used in scenery or costumes, use Flamex NF on cotton, muslin, scrims, cotton netting, natural velours, wools, linens, natural felts, and most other decorative, garment or upholstery fabrics made with natural fibers. Easy to use, with no greasy after effects, Flamex NF is the best solution for insuring your scenery and props meet local fire regulations. Flamex NF compares to original Roscoflamex C26. Do not intermix old and new Flamex products. Use Flamex NF to effectively treat cotton, muslin, scrims, cotton netting, natural velours, wools, linens, natural felts, decorative, garment or upholstery fabrics made from natural fibers. Flamex PA Paint Additive - 8 oz.

Flamex PA is a clear, un-pigmented additive for creating a flame retardant paint layer. Add one full jar of Flamex PA to a US gallon (3.79L) of water based paint to make your paint coating flame retardant. Flamex PA is compatible in most latex or vinyl acrylic paints but always test with your specific paint choice. Do not use Flamex PA with metallic paints as the metal pigments may react and tarnish or corrode. Flamex PA does NOT alter the flammability of the substrate being painted but only adds a retardant treatment that slows the spread of fire along the surface. Flamex PA compares to original P50. Do not intermix old and new Flamex products. Use to treat Latex house paint, Tinted latex paints, Latex primers, Rosco Scenic paints, Clear Flat or Gloss Acrylic Glazes, Vinyl and Acrylic water based mural paints. Rosco Flamex PA has been pre-measured and should be added to a single US Gallon (3.79L) of paint. Once combined, the paint/Flamex mixture can be diluted as desired but the dry paint film must be no less than 4 mil in thickness. The effectiveness of a fire retardant barrier is dependent on both the fire retardant additive and the thickness of the coating. Flamex PA is not intended to be used in place of other Flamex products. Where possible, always treat the substrate material using the appropriate Flamex product. Note: When using Flamex PA in Rosco Supersaturated paint add one 8 oz. jar to one quart of undiluted Supersaturated and then dilute this mixture at least 1:1 with water. Mix thoroughly before using. 8 oz. of Flamex PA mixed into one gallon of paint will treat approximately 300 square feet (28 square meters) of material as per paint manufacturer's guidelines. Apply treated paint by brush, roller or sprayer as per the paint manufacturer's instructions. Regardless of the method of application, it is vital that a complete paint film is formed and that the dry film thickness of the finished coating is not less than 4 mil. Paint films that are incomplete, or are too thin, will not provide a barrier against the spread of fire. Flamex PA has been approved for use by the California and New York City Fire Marshall and has been tested according to ASTM E84 Class A. Store Flamex products in non-metallic containers. When metal sprayers are used, they should be thoroughly cleaned immediately after use, including nozzles and accessories. Avoid use of metal buckets or paint containers when possible. Flamex PC for Paper and Cardboard - 1 Gallon

Flamex PC was formulated specifically to treat the many paper products commonly used in props and scenery construction. Most paper products without a wax coating or other water resistant properties can be effectively treated. Flamex PC is a new formulation designed to effectively treat paper and cardboard products used in props and scenery. Do not intermix old and new Flamex products. Use to treat Letters, Copier paper, Newspapers and magazines, Paper trash and packaging, Cardboard boxes, Matte board. Rosco Flamex PC has been premixed and does not require any further dilution. The method of application and the amount of Flamex required for sufficient treatment varies with the materials in use. Some discoloration and wrinkling of paper products may occur as the paper materials dry. Multiple light treatments will minimize this. One gallon of Flamex PC will treat approximately 400 square feet (37 square meters) of fabric. Flamex can be applyed in three ways: Dipping is the most efficient method of impregnation. Immerse completely for ten minutes, and hang to dry. Brush using a wide lay-in brush, brush the Flamex solution into the fibers of the material being treated. Flamex SF for Synthetic Fabrics - 1 Gallon

Treating synthetic fabrics can be difficult since the synthetic threads of the fabric do not absorb liquids in the same manner that a natural fiber does. Flamex SF is designed to be a penetrating treatment that bonds to the surface of the threads deep within the weave of the material, securing the flame retardant chemicals and rendering an effective protective treatment. Flamex SF will treat many synthetic fabrics, such as polyesters, nylons, acrylics and rayons, as well as most cotton/synthetic blends. A vast range of synthetic fabrics are used in scenery properties and costumer construction. While Flamex SF will work with many of these, always test a sample to insure compatibility and effectiveness. Leaving no residue or powdery build up, Flamex SF simplifies the task of insuring all your softgoods and scenic fabrics will meet the Fire Marshall's expectations. Rosco Off Broadway 5382: Paynes Grey

Off Broadway is one of Rosco's most popular scenic paints. A palette of rich, matte theatrical colors in a flexible vinyl acrylic binder makes Off Broadway paint perfect for almost any scenic or artistic application. Off Broadway can be used straight out of the can or diluted with water to create beautiful glazes for finishes which can be applied to virtually any surface in stagecraft including muslin, wood, metals, wallboard and many plastics. Off Broadway is compatible with all other Rosco scenic paints. Available in 27 artists' colors and 6 metallic colors.

Finish: Matte

Solvent: Water

Binder Type: Vinyl Acrylic

Dilution: May be used straight out of the can or diluted with water, Rosco Clear Acrylic Glaze or a combination of the two. Diluting will reduce the color concentration and create "glaze" effects. Diluting with more than 2 parts water may reduce binder strength. Add Rosco Clear Acrylic Glaze to restore adhesion and flexibility.

Surface Preparation: Surfaces should be clean, dry and free from dirt and grease. Prime porous surfaces, except fabric, using Rosco Tough Prime. If painting a new plaster surface, prime wall with a commercial primer/sealer designed for raw plaster. Then use Rosco Tough Prime as a final preparation.

Application: Stir contents before use. Do not shake. Apply by brush, roller or spray gun. Apply in thin, even coats, using a goad quality brush or roller. Use overlapping strokes, keeping a wet edge. Change roller direction often to avoid patterns and streaking.
