ALPS is here to help with your lighting and event needs. Below are some frequently asked questions, as well as answers and links to help guide you in the right direction.
If I know what lighting equipment I need to rent for an event and I plan to setup/breakdown the lighting system myself, who should I contact?
If you only need the lighting rental equipment (no labor needed), then contact our RENTAL DEPARTMENT to arrange an equipment rental order.
How do I buy a gobo (aka: pattern / monogram / logo) or some gel for my lights?
If I have an event and I need someone to design the lighting, set it up, run it and take it down for me, who should I contact?
For lighting design and event services (including labor, equipment, etc.), you may contact our EVENTS DEPARTMENT.
I have been asked to help with lighting for a play, but I'm not sure what I need. Can you help me with that?
Take a look at our RENTAL LIGHTING 101 page. That should give you some information and ideas on where to start. Then contact our RENTAL DEPARTMENT and they will be able to assemble a rental order for you.
Here are some questions that will need to be answered to more effectively help you:
- What is the size of your room, as close as you can estimate (width, length and height)?
- How large is the stage/performance area you are trying to light?
- How much power do you have available to use for lighting and where is it located?
- Do you have some place to attach the lights, or would you need poles/stands to attach them to?
- What is the distance from where the lights will be to your performance area?
- Where do you plan to put your lighting control console relative to your lights?
Where do I go to for technical support/repair or to buy parts for my theatrical/stage lights?
Our SERVICE DEPARTMENT is the place to go for your repair service needs or to buy replacement parts for your theatrical lighting and equipment.
If my school/organization wants to upgrade our lighting system with some new lights, a dimmer, or possibly a lighting control console, who should I contact?
If you need to purchase a few items (lighting fixtures, data cables, etc.) to supplement your existing system, then you can contact our SALES DEPARTMENT.
If you're looking for a more substantial lighting system upgrade or need someone to help you decide how best to upgrade your facility, then you can contact our SYSTEMS DEPARTMENT.
